How to Get to Playa de Binigaus

Getting to Playa de Binigaus is part of the adventure and charm surrounding this paradise. Let's not expect to find it right by the road with a massive parking lot next to it, and precisely that is what makes it so special and well-preserved. The most common and recommended route to access this wonderful cove is via the famous Camí de Cavalls, an ancient path that goes around the entire island of Menorca.

We usually start our journey from the Santo Tomás urbanization, which is the closest point with infrastructure. Once there, we can leave our vehicle in the designated parking areas in Santo Tomás. It is important to consider that, especially during high season, these parking lots can fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. From Santo Tomás, the path to Playa de Binigaus is a walk of about ten to fifteen minutes, following the Camí de Cavalls heading west (to the left when facing the sea). It is an easy trail to navigate, well-signposted, and suitable for the whole family, although it is always advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes.

During this short journey, we can already begin to savor the natural beauty of the area. The trail winds along the coast, offering us spectacular views of the Mediterranean and the native Menorcan vegetation. It is a perfect prelude to what awaits us upon reaching the sand. There is no direct public transport to the beach, so the combination of car to Santo Tomás and then the walk is the most practical option. For those staying in Es Migjorn Gran, the distance is somewhat greater, but equally accessible on foot or by bicycle, always connecting with the Camí de Cavalls.

The Sand and the Water

If there's something that captivates us immediately upon stepping onto Playa de Binigaus, it's the quality of its sand and the transparency of its waters. The sand here is pure white with a fine, silky texture that invites us to take off our shoes and walk along the shore. It is a delight for the feet, and its brightness contrasts wonderfully with the intense turquoise blue of the sea, creating a color palette that takes our breath away. This sand is also ideal for children to play and build sandcastles, as it doesn't stick excessively and is very comfortable.

The waters of Playa de Binigaus are simply spectacular. Their transparency is such that we can see the seabed with astonishing clarity, even at several meters depth. Services and Facilities

Although Playa de Binigaus is characterized by its natural and wild atmosphere, which gives it part of its charm, it is not without certain services that make our stay more comfortable and safe. It is important to remember that, being a beach in a protected environment, the range of facilities is more limited than in urban beaches, but sufficient to fully enjoy the day.

One of the most valued services, especially during the high season, is the presence of Lifeguards. The safety of bathers is a priority, and having qualified personnel watching over the beach gives us great peace of mind, especially if we are with children. They are usually present from June to September, during daylight hours.

Regarding food and drink, it is common to find a Chiringuito or a similar establishment on the beach itself or nearby. This chiringuito, usually with a relaxed atmosphere and sea views, allows us to recharge with refreshing drinks, ice creams, and often some simple food options.
