How to Get to Cala Xuclar

From San Juan de Labritja, the nearest town, we must take the road towards Portinatx. After a few kilometers, we will find a sign indicating the turnoff to Cala Xuclar. The road becomes a narrower and more winding path, often unpaved in its final stretch, which descends to the cove. It is advisable to drive with caution, especially in high season, as parking space is limited.

Access by car is possible and there are usually some improvised parking spots just before reaching the sand. However, in the middle of summer, these spots can fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early if visiting in July or August. Another option, for the more adventurous, is to walk from a nearby cove or from the main road, enjoying a pleasant walk among pine trees with sea views. There is no direct public transport to the cove, which reinforces its atmosphere of exclusivity and tranquility.

The Sand and Water

The first thing you will notice when stepping onto Cala Xuclar is the particularity of its surface. Do not expect a beach of fine, golden sand; here, the ground is of a mixed type, a combination of coarser sand and small pebbles or stones. Beyond this point, the cove is quite pristine, so we recommend bringing everything you need for the day: water, sunscreen, and a towel, as well as taking all your trash with you to keep this paradise intact.

Best Time to Visit

Choosing the best time to visit Cala Xuclar is key to fully enjoying its charm. We highly recommend spring (May and early June) and early autumn (late September and October). During these months, the climate in Ibiza is still very pleasant, with mild temperatures and many hours of sunshine, but the influx of tourists is significantly lower than in the peak summer months.

Visiting Cala Xuclar in spring or autumn will allow you to enjoy the cove with much more tranquility, find parking without difficulty, and savor the authenticity of the place without crowds. Furthermore, the surrounding nature is at its peak, with greener and more lush vegetation. If your only option is summer (July and August), we advise going early in the morning (before 10:00 AM) or late in the afternoon (after 5:00 PM) to avoid the peak influx and enjoy the peace this cove can offer.
