How to Get to Cala Serena

Getting to Cala Serena is relatively straightforward, although it requires a bit of attention due to its somewhat sheltered location. The cove is located very close to Cala d'Or, one of Mallorca's most popular tourist centers. If you're coming by car, the most common route is to take the Ma-4012 road from Felanitx or the Ma-4013 from Portocolom, heading towards Cala d'Or. Once near Cala d'Or, you'll find signs for the different coves in the area, including Cala Serena. It's important to know that direct car access to the sand itself is not possible, as the conservation of the natural environment is prioritized.

Car Access and Parking

We recommend arriving by car, as it offers the most flexibility. There are free parking areas on the streets near the cove, although in high season it can be a bit tricky to find a spot, especially around midday. The ideal is to arrive early in the morning to secure a good place. From the parking area, access to the beach involves a short walk and, in some sections, descending some stairs, which reduces accessibility somewhat for people with very limited mobility or large baby strollers, although it's feasible with a little effort. The reward is undoubtedly worth it.

Public Transport and on Foot

If you prefer public transport, there are buses connecting Felanitx and other points on the island with Cala d'Or. From the Cala d'Or bus station, you can reach Cala Serena with a pleasant 15-20 minute walk, following the signs and enjoying the coastal landscape. For those staying in nearby hotels in Cala d'Or or Cala Ferrera, the cove is perfectly accessible on foot, allowing you to enjoy a morning or evening stroll along the coast. Remember to wear comfortable shoes for the journey.

The Sand and the Water

The sand is fine and of a soft golden color, incredibly pleasant to the touch and perfect for laying out a towel and enjoying a day in the sun. The predominant type of seabed in the bathing area is also sand, which makes entering the sea easy and safe for all ages.
