How to get to Cala Moltó

Getting to Cala Moltó is part of the adventure and contributes to its exclusive character. Generally, the most common route is via the popular Cala Agulla. We recommend following these directions:

1. By car: We will drive to Cala Agulla, which has a large paid parking lot. It is the closest and most convenient parking. From most points in Mallorca, the signage towards Capdepera and Cala Agulla is clear.
2. On foot: Once at Cala Agulla, we must walk north, following a coastal path. It is a pleasant walk of about 10-15 minutes, through a Mediterranean landscape of pine trees and rocks. The path is relatively easy, although comfortable footwear is recommended. The first cove we will find after leaving Cala Agulla behind will be Cala Moltó. We mention that, due to this pedestrian access, the beach maintains a quieter and less crowded profile.

Arrival Tips

• Arrive early, especially in high season, to secure a spot in the Cala Agulla parking lot.
• Bring a backpack with everything you need, as there are no direct services at the cove.

The sand and water

When stepping onto Cala Moltó, the first thing that captivates us is the quality of its sand. It is predominantly fine and of a light, almost white tone, which contrasts wonderfully with the turquoise blue of the Mediterranean. This sand is very pleasant underfoot and perfect for spreading out our towel and enjoying the sun. Although it is mostly sandy, at the ends of the cove and in some areas of the seabed we can find small rocky formations that add character to the landscape and are home to diverse marine life.

But if there is one thing that truly defines Cala Moltó, it is the purity of its waters. They are incredibly crystal clear, allowing you to see the seabed with astonishing clarity, even at several meters depth. This transparency, combined with the usual calm of its waters, creates an idyllic setting for swimming. The entrance to the sea is gentle and gradual, making it comfortable for all bathers, although it should be noted that it is not a beach specifically designed for young children due to the lack of services.

A snorkeling paradise

The combination of clear waters and the presence of some underwater rocks makes Cala Moltó an exceptional place to practice snorkeling. We love diving here with our mask and snorkel to observe schools of fish, small crabs, and other marine species that inhabit this well-preserved ecosystem. It is an immersive experience that connects us directly with the natural richness of the Balearic beaches.

Services and facilities

One of the most distinctive characteristics of Cala Moltó is precisely the absence of large infrastructure and services. This is what gives it its wild and natural charm, and what makes it a refuge for those seeking tranquility and authenticity. We will not find showers, toilets, beach bars (chiringuitos), or lifeguard services directly on the sand of Cala Moltó.

This lack of services implies planning on our part. It is essential that we bring with us everything we might need for the day:

• Water and drinks: Essential for hydration under the Mallorcan sun.
• Food and snacks: To enjoy a picnic on the shore.
• Sun protection: Sunscreen, hat or cap, and sunglasses.
• Beach umbrella: There are not abundant natural shaded areas, so an umbrella is highly recommended.
• Bag for waste: To take all our trash with us and keep the cove immaculate.

Best time to visit

To fully enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Cala Moltó, the choice of time of year is crucial. We, based on our experience, strongly recommend spring (April, May, early June) and early autumn (September, October).
