How to Get to Cala Llamp

Getting to Cala Llamp is relatively straightforward, although it requires a car, as public transport does not reach the cove directly with the desired frequency for a traveler. We always recommend renting a vehicle at Palma Airport (PMI) or in one of the island's main towns, which will give you total freedom to explore Andratx and its surroundings at your own pace.

From Palma de Mallorca

If you're starting from Palma de Mallorca, the journey takes approximately 35-40 minutes, depending on traffic. You should take the Ma-1 highway towards Andratx. Once you've passed the exits for Paguera and Camp de Mar, you should take the exit towards Andratx. Once in Andratx town, follow the signs to Port d'Andratx and, from there, to Cala Llamp. The road is good and well-signposted, although the last curves before reaching the cove can be a bit winding, but the views that open up along the way are worth it.

Parking

Regarding parking, Cala Llamp does not have a large parking lot, but you will find areas to park your car in the surroundings, along the streets that descend towards the cove. It's surface parking, generally free, but it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot during the high season months (July and August) and during the central hours of the day. Our recommendation is to arrive early in the morning to secure a good spot and avoid the stress of searching for parking. Some of the restaurants and beach clubs in the area have private parking for their clients, which is a comfortable option if you plan to spend the day at one of them.

Access to the Cove

Once the car is parked, access to the platforms and the sea is direct, usually via stairs or short ramps descending from street level. It's important to consider that, as it's not a sandy beach, there is no 'gentle' access to the water. The platforms are designed to facilitate bathing, but always with caution. We would not consider this access 'fully accessible' for people with reduced mobility due to the stairs and the nature of the terrain, although nearby establishments may have their own accessibility solutions.

The Sand and Water
