This hidden gem on the east coast of the Balearic beaches is much more than just a beach; it's a destination that invites us to disconnect, to enjoy the Mediterranean at its finest, and to create unforgettable memories. The cove, with its cozy dimensions, presents itself as a natural amphitheater, protected by gentle cliffs covered in pine trees that give it an air of intimacy and beauty.

How to Get to Cala Ferrera

Getting to Cala Ferrera is relatively easy, especially if we are staying in the surroundings of Felanitx or nearby Cala d'Or. We recommend several options to suit each traveler's preferences:

By Car

If we have a car, the route is quite direct. From Palma, we will take the Ma-19 towards Llucmajor and Campos, and then turn off towards Felanitx (Ma-5010) and finally towards Cala Ferrera/Cala d'Or. The signage is clear. Once in the area, we will find several parking options, some free on adjacent streets (though they can be crowded in high season) and others paid, managed by nearby hotels or establishments. Our advice is to arrive early in the summer months to secure a good spot.

By Public Transport

During the tourist season, the Cala Ferrera area is well connected by bus lines. From Palma, we can take a bus to Felanitx or Cala d'Or, and from there connect with local lines that cover the different coves. The stops are usually just a few minutes' walk from the beach, making it a comfortable and economical option, especially if we want to avoid the stress of parking.

On Foot or by Bicycle

If we are staying in nearby urban centers, such as Cala d'Or or Cala Serena, we can reach Cala Ferrera by taking a pleasant walk or bike ride. The area has trails and streets adapted for this, offering us the opportunity to enjoy the Mediterranean landscape before taking a dip. It's an excellent option to stay active and explore the surroundings.

The Sand and Water

The quality of the sand and water at Cala Ferrera is, without a doubt, one of its greatest attractions. When stepping onto the beach, our feet sink into fine, golden sand, exceptionally soft and pleasant. It's perfect for children to play in complete safety, building sandcastles or simply digging small holes. The texture of the sand invites us to lie down directly on it, although it's always a good idea to bring a towel or mat.

The waters of Cala Ferrera are simply spectacular. Their transparency is astonishing, allowing us to see the seabed clearly, even at several meters depth. The color ranges from turquoise to emerald blue, creating a beautiful contrast with the sand. Furthermore, the waters are usually very calm, protected by the shape of the cove and the surrounding cliffs, making them ideal for bathing for the whole family, even for the little ones or for those who don't feel very comfortable in open waters. The absence of strong currents and the shallow depth at the shore make it a safe and pleasant place to enjoy a refreshing dip at any time of the day.

• Beach Bars and Restaurants: On the beach and in its immediate surroundings, we find several beach bars and restaurants where we can enjoy a refreshing drink, an ice cream, a snack, or even a more elaborate meal. They are perfect for taking a break and recharging without having to go too far from the sand.
• Equipment Rental: For the more active, there are rental points for light water sports equipment, such as water skates, kayaks, or paddle surf boards. It's a fun way to explore the cove from another perspective.
• Parking: As mentioned, there are parking options nearby, both free and paid, although in high season it can be a challenge to find a spot if we don't arrive early.
