How to Get to Cala de Valldemossa

The adventure begins even before setting foot in Cala de Valldemossa. To reach this hidden paradise, we must first head to the picturesque village of Valldemossa, famous for its Charterhouse and bohemian charm. From there, a winding but spectacular descent awaits us along a narrow, curvy road. It's a route that requires caution, but rewards us with panoramic views of the coast and mountains that are simply unforgettable.

Road Access

From Valldemossa, we take the Ma-1131 road towards the port. The journey is approximately 6 kilometers and, although short, can take about 15-20 minutes due to the narrowness of the road and the sharp curves. It's important to drive calmly and be aware of oncoming vehicles, especially during the high season.

Parking

Once we reach the end of the road, we find a limited parking area. In the summer months, especially July and August, finding a spot can be quite a challenge. Our recommendation is to arrive early in the morning or late in the afternoon to secure a space. If you don't find parking at the cove, the only option is to go back up and look in Valldemossa village, which adds a considerable walk. This detail is crucial for planning our visit and avoiding frustration.

The Sand and Water

When we talk about Cala de Valldemossa, it's important to clarify that we are not referring to a typical fine-sand beach. Its charm lies precisely in its more rustic and natural character. The predominant ground type is pebble, with a mix of larger and smaller stones polished by the sea over the centuries. Its atmosphere is simple and authentic, very much in keeping with the spirit of the cove.

Other Services

As mentioned, the cove does not have massive tourist infrastructure. We won't find public showers, toilets, or lifeguard service on the shore. It's essential to be aware of this and take our own precautions. We recommend bringing everything we need for our day: water, sunscreen, towels, and any other items we might need.
