How to Get to Cala Binibèquer

Getting to Cala Binibèquer is relatively easy, and the options vary depending on our preferences and starting point in Menorca.
From Mahón, the island's capital, the journey by car takes approximately 15-20 minutes. We must take the ME-12 road towards Sant Lluís, and once there, follow the signs to Binibèquer. The signage is usually clear.

By Car

This is the most comfortable option for most visitors. In the vicinity of the cove and the village of Binibèquer Vell, we will find several parking areas, although in high season, especially in July and August, they can fill up quickly. Our recommendation is to arrive early in the morning to secure a good spot and enjoy the cove more peacefully. There are free parking zones, but there may also be paid options near the village.

By Public Transport

During the summer months, there is a bus line connecting Mahón and Sant Lluís with Binibèquer. While it is a more ecological option and saves us the search for parking, it is important to check the schedules, as the frequency may not be very high, especially outside peak hours. It's a good alternative if we are staying in Mahón or Sant Lluís and don't want to rent a car.

By Bicycle or Walking

For the more adventurous or those staying nearby, getting to Cala Binibèquer by bicycle or even on foot is a rewarding experience. The secondary roads are quiet and offer us beautiful rural landscapes. However, it should be considered that summer temperatures can be high, so we recommend this option for the early morning or at sunset.

The Sand and Water

When we talk about Cala Binibèquer, we inevitably think of its sand and waters. And for good reason.
The beach features fine sand of a white color that contrasts wonderfully with the turquoise blue of the sea. It is a soft and pleasant-to-the-touch sand, perfect for laying out our towel and relaxing under the sun, or for the little ones to build sandcastles without difficulty. Its texture makes it very comfortable for walking barefoot.

But if there's something that captivates us about this cove, it's its waters. They are of astonishing transparency, with tones ranging from crystal blue at the shore to an intense turquoise further in. Furthermore, they are calm and shallow waters, making them ideal for bathing for children and adults who are not comfortable in deeper or wavier waters. The seabed is predominantly sandy, which contributes to that feeling of cleanliness and clarity. The absence of strong currents and the protection of the cove make bathing always a pleasure.

• Chiringuitos: Right on the sand or very close by, there are a couple of chiringuitos where we can enjoy a refreshing drink, an ice cream, or even a light meal. They are perfect for escaping the sun for a while and tasting some local dish with sea views.
• Showers: We have showers to rinse off the salt and sand before returning home or to our accommodation. A detail that is always appreciated.
• Parking: As we already mentioned, there are parking areas nearby, although it is advisable to arrive early in high season.
• Lifeguard Service: During the summer season, the beach has a lifeguard service, which gives us additional peace of mind, especially if we are with children.
• Sunshades and Sunbeds: For those who prefer not to bring their own equipment, there is the possibility of renting sunshades and sunbeds, thus guaranteeing a beach day with all the comforts.
