How to get to Praia de Lagoa de Santo André

Getting to Praia de Lagoa de Santo André is relatively straightforward, although we recommend the car as the most comfortable option for exploring this region. From Lisbon, the journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours, taking the A2 motorway heading south and then turning off onto the IC33 or IP8 towards Santiago do Cacém. From Setúbal city, the trip is similar in duration. Once near Santiago do Cacém, the signs for 'Lagoa de Santo André' or 'Praia da Lagoa' are clear.

By car

We always choose the car because it gives us the freedom to explore the surroundings at our own pace. There are extensive parking areas, free of charge, especially near the chiringuitos and main access points. However, in July and August, especially on weekends, it is advisable to arrive early to secure a good spot. The final access road is paved and in good condition, making it easy to reach even with large vehicles.

Public transport

While it is possible to reach by public transport, it is less direct and may require several connections. There are buses connecting Santiago do Cacém with nearby towns such as Sines and Grândola. From Santiago do Cacém, there are occasional local bus services that reach the lagoon area, especially during the high season. However, for a hassle-free experience with total flexibility, we strongly advise using a car.
