How to get to Praia Verde

Getting to Praia Verde is relatively straightforward, and the approach journey already immerses us in the relaxed atmosphere of the region. If we come by car, which is the most comfortable option for exploring the Algarve, we must head east from Faro, towards Vila Real de Santo António. There is clear signage indicating the turnoff to the beach. Once there, we will find several parking areas, some free and others paid, especially in high season. Our recommendation is to arrive early during the summer months to secure a good spot and avoid crowds.

For those who prefer public transport, the option is a bit more limited but possible. We can take a train or bus to Vila Real de Santo António or Monte Gordo, and from there, a taxi or, in some cases, local buses that operate less frequently, especially in the low season. However, for greater flexibility and to explore the surroundings without constraints, the car is undoubtedly the best choice. Access to the beach from the parking lot is easy, with wooden walkways guiding us directly to the sand.

The sand and the water

The first thing that captivates us when stepping onto Praia Verde is its fine, golden sand, so soft under our feet that it invites us to walk barefoot for hours. It's clean, well-maintained sand, perfect for spreading out our towel and enjoying the sun. • Full Accessibility: Praia Verde prides itself on being an accessible beach. This means it has ramps and walkways that facilitate access to the sand for people with reduced mobility, as well as, in some cases, amphibious chairs and support staff.
