Unlike other beaches in Guerrero that are accessible directly by road, Las Gatas is reached mainly by sea, which gives it an air of exclusivity and tranquility. We highly recommend this experience.

From Zihuatanejo

The most common and picturesque way to get there is by taking a panga or water taxi from the main pier in Zihuatanejo. The boats depart very frequently during the day, especially in the morning, and the journey is short, just about 10 to 15 minutes. The trip itself is a delight, as it allows you to admire the beautiful Zihuatanejo Bay from a different perspective, with the green mountains in the background and the constant coming and going of fishing and tourist boats. Prices are usually very reasonable and are negotiated directly with the boatmen. It is an efficient and very local system.

Alternatives

Although there is no direct road access for vehicles, some visitors opt for a slightly more challenging walk from Playa La Ropa, following the coastline.
