How to Get to Playa de Tamraght

Getting to Playa de Tamraght is relatively easy, especially if we're coming from Agadir or the airport. We recommend several options to suit each traveler's preferences and budget:

From Agadir

• Taxi: This is the most comfortable and fastest option. A taxi from central Agadir to Tamraght usually costs between 100 and 150 Moroccan dirhams (MAD), depending on the time and our ability to negotiate the price. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes.
• Local bus: If we're looking for a more economical option and want a local experience, we can take a bus from the Agadir bus station. Lines 32 and 33 will take us directly to Tamraght or the neighboring village of Taghazout. The cost is very low, around 7-10 MAD, but the trip is longer with stops.
• Car rental: Renting a car gives us total freedom to explore the area at our own pace. The N1 coastal road is easy to drive and offers spectacular scenery. There is free, though sometimes informal, parking near the beach.

From Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA)

The airport is about 45-50 kilometers from Tamraght.

• Taxi: A direct taxi from the airport to Tamraght can cost between 250 and 350 MAD. It's advisable to agree on the price before starting the journey.
• Private transfer: Many surf camps and accommodations offer transfer services. It's a comfortable, worry-free option, especially if we arrive at night.

The Sand and Water

Playa de Tamraght wins us over with its vast expanse of fine, golden sand, stretching for several kilometers and merging with neighboring beaches. The sand is soft to the touch, perfect for long barefoot walks or building sandcastles with the little ones. It's a clean beach, although its more natural, less developed character means we might sometimes find small shells or debris washed up by the tide.

The Atlantic waters are clear and generally cool, especially outside the summer months. Their temperature is ideal for cooling off after a surf session or a swim under the Moroccan sun. It's important to consider that, being a beach open to the ocean, waves are constant and can generate currents. Therefore, we always recommend paying attention to lifeguard instructions and, if we're not used to ocean waters, being cautious when swimming, especially on days with strong waves. For surfers, these waves are precisely the main attraction, offering excellent conditions for all levels.

Services and Facilities

Despite its relaxed atmosphere and organic growth, Playa de Tamraght offers a good range of essential services that make our stay comfortable and pleasant:

• Chiringuitos and cafes: Along the beach and in the village, we'll find numerous chiringuitos and small cafes where we can enjoy mint tea, fresh juice, or a light meal with sea views. Some also offer sun loungers and umbrellas for their customers.
• Parking: Although there is no formal paid parking, there are ample informal parking areas along the road running parallel to the beach and in the village streets. We can always find a spot to leave our vehicle.
• Lifeguards: During the high season and summer months, the beach has lifeguard services to ensure our safety in the water. It's always advisable to swim in the supervised areas.
• Equipment Rental: If we come to surf but don't bring our own gear, no problem. Tamraght is dotted with surf schools and shops offering board and wetsuit rentals for all levels and sizes. We can also find surf lessons for beginners and advanced surfers.
• Showers and toilets: While there are no public showers on the beach itself as in more developed destinations, many surf camps and some chiringuitos have showers we can use. As for toilets, we'll find them in local establishments.
• Umbrellas and sun loungers: Some of the beach cafes offer this service to their customers, although it's not as widespread as on other more touristy beaches. Many visitors choose to bring their own towels and enjoy the sand directly.
