How to Get to Playa de Milia

Getting to Playa de Milia is relatively straightforward, and the journey itself is part of the adventure, offering us spectacular views of the island of Skopelos. The beach is located on the west coast of the island, about 14 kilometers southwest of the capital, Skopelos Town (Chora), and just about 2 kilometers south of the picturesque village of Panormos.

Transport Options

• By rental car or motorbike: Undoubtedly the most comfortable and flexible way to explore the island. From Skopelos Town, we take the main road that crosses the island towards Panormos. The road is well-signposted and in good condition. There is a large free parking area right behind the beach, which makes our arrival much easier. The freedom of having our own vehicle allows us to stay until sunset or explore other nearby beaches with complete autonomy.

• Local bus: During the high season (June to September), there is a regular bus service connecting Skopelos Town with the main beaches, including Milia. The stops are conveniently located and the schedule is usually frequent, although we always recommend checking the latest timetables at the bus station or at the stops. It's an economical option and allows us to relax without worrying about parking.

• Taxi: For greater comfort, especially if we are traveling in a group or with a lot of luggage, we can opt for a taxi. Prices are reasonable, and they will drop us off right at the entrance to the beach. We can find taxis at the port of Skopelos Town or request one from our accommodation.

• Boat tours: Although not the most common way to reach Milia, some boat tours that cruise the Skopelos coastline make stops at this beach, offering us a different and spectacular perspective of its beauty from the sea.

The Sand and Water

Its sand is of a mixed type, predominantly golden and fine in some sections, but interspersed with small pebbles and sea-polished stones, especially near the shore.
