How to Get to Playa de Psili Ammos

Our adventure usually begins in Livadi, the main port of Serifos, where ferries arrive from Piraeus (Athens) or from other nearby islands. From Livadi, the beach is about 15-20 minutes by car or scooter, a relatively short but charming journey that allows us to admire the arid hills and the typical whitewashed houses of the Cyclades.

Once in Livadi, we have several options to get to Psili Ammos. The most common is to rent a car or a scooter, which gives us the freedom to explore the island at our own pace. The road leading to the beach is paved and in good condition, although, as is common on Greek islands, it may have some sharp curves and slopes. Driving along these secondary roads, with the Aegean Sea in view, is an experience in itself, and gifts us with panoramic views that invite us to stop and take photographs.

For those who prefer not to drive, there is a local bus service connecting Livadi with some of the most popular beaches, including Psili Ammos. Schedules may vary depending on the season, so we always recommend checking them upon arrival at the port. Buses are an economical option and allow us to relax and enjoy the scenery without worries. Finally, taxis are also available in Livadi, offering a more comfortable and direct option, though logically more expensive. Whatever means we choose, the path to Playa de Psili Ammos is part of the magic, preparing us for the beauty that awaits.

Parking at Psili Ammos

Regarding parking, Playa de Psili Ammos has informal parking areas along the road descending towards the beach. Let's not expect to find an organized and signposted parking lot like in other more developed destinations; here, parking is more a matter of finding an available spot on the roadside or in small, improvised clearings. During the high season, especially in July and August, it can be a bit tricky to find a spot, particularly during the middle of the day. Therefore, if we are traveling by car or scooter, our recommendation is to arrive early in the morning or late in the afternoon to secure a good place.
