Undoubtedly, the most common and flexible way to reach Karathona is by car. From the center of Nafplio, the journey takes just 10-15 minutes. The road winding towards the beach is scenic, offering us spectacular views of the sea and the Palamidi fortress along the way. Upon arrival, we'll find several areas of free parking along the beach, which is a relief, especially during the peak summer months when other beaches may have parking issues. However, we recommend arriving early in summer to secure a good spot.

On Foot or by Bicycle

For the more adventurous or those who enjoy a walk with views, there is a picturesque path connecting Nafplio with Karathona. This trail, known as the 'Arvanitia Promenade' or 'Palamidi Path', offers us a spectacular coastal walk, passing by rocky coves with stunning sea views. Although the main trail goes to Arvanitia beach, there are extensions or secondary paths that can take us further, though walking all the way to Karathona is a longer hike and requires some preparation.
