How to Get to Firopotamos Beach

Getting to Firopotamos Beach is part of the adventure and charm of this destination. Located on the north coast of Milos, about 5 kilometers northeast of the capital, Plaka, and about 8 kilometers from Adamas, the main port, access is relatively straightforward, although it requires a private vehicle or a taxi. We recommend renting a car or an ATV (quad) to explore Milos at your own pace, and Firopotamos is one of those must-see stops you'll appreciate having the freedom to visit.

From Plaka or Adamas, the route involves taking the main road that crosses the island and then turning onto a paved but narrow, winding road that descends towards the coast. The signs are usually clear, and the road is in good condition, although you must drive carefully due to the curves and narrowness in some sections. As you approach, panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and the small fishing village begin to appear, hinting at the beauty awaiting you at the end of the journey.

Parking in Firopotamos is informal but generally sufficient. There is an open space near the beach where vehicles can be parked without major issues, especially outside the high season. The bay is well protected from the wind, ensuring placid swimming conditions most of the time. The water temperature, especially in the summer months, is very pleasant and refreshing.
