How to Get to Playa de Detis

The most common way to get there is by ferry from the port of Piraeus in Athens, or from larger nearby islands like Naxos or Paros. Ferry services vary by season, being more frequent during the summer months. Once at the port of Koufonisia, known as Chora, we have several options to reach this magnificent beach, which is located on the east side of the island.

From Chora to Paradise

• On foot: For hiking lovers and those who want to soak up the landscape, Playa de Detis (Pori) is accessible on foot from Chora. The path is picturesque, following the coast and passing by other beaches like Fanos and Italida. The full walk can take between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on our pace, and is an excellent way to discover the island's natural beauty. We advise wearing comfortable shoes and carrying enough water, especially if visiting in the height of summer under the Greek sun.
• By bicycle or scooter: Koufonisia is a small and relatively flat island, making it perfect for exploring by bicycle or scooter. There are several rental points in Chora where we can get one. The journey to the Koufonisia beach of Pori takes about 10-15 minutes by scooter and a bit longer by bicycle, offering us the freedom to move at our own pace and enjoy the views along the way. The road leading to Pori is paved for most of its route, facilitating access.
• Local bus: During the peak summer season, Koufonisia operates a small local bus that connects Chora with the main beaches, including Playa de Detis (Pori). This is a comfortable and economical option, ideal if we prefer not to walk or rent a vehicle. Schedules are usually available at the port or accommodations, and we recommend checking them in advance, as frequency may vary.
