From Kavala city

If you are in the city of Kavala, the most comfortable way to get there is by car. Nea Peramos is located about 18-20 kilometres west of Kavala, and the journey usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes along a very scenic coastal road. There are also local buses that connect Kavala with Nea Peramos quite frequently during the high season. It is an economical option and allows you to enjoy the scenery without worries.

From Kavala Airport (KVA)

Kavala International Airport 'Megas Alexandros' (KVA) is about 50 kilometres east of Nea Peramos. From there, the best option is to rent a car directly at the airport or take a taxi. The journey takes approximately 45-60 minutes and is direct. It is the fastest route if you are arriving by plane to this region of Greece.

From Thessaloniki

For those arriving at Thessaloniki International Airport 'Macedonia' (SKG), which is a larger airport with more international connections, the journey to Nea Peramos is a bit longer. The distance is about 150 kilometres and it takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours by car via the Egnatia Odos highway. There are bus services from Thessaloniki to Kavala, and from Kavala, as we already mentioned, you can take another local bus or a taxi to Nea Peramos. We certainly consider that a rental car offers the greatest flexibility to explore the region at your own pace.

What first catches our attention when stepping onto Playa de Nea Peramos is its stunning sand. It is fine-grained, with a golden colour that sparkles under the Greek sun, inviting us to walk barefoot and feel its soft texture between our toes. This quality makes it extremely comfortable for lying down and enjoying long days of sun, as well as for children to play and build sandcastles without difficulty. The beach is extensive, offering plenty of space for everyone, even on the busiest summer days.

As for the water, it is simply spectacular. The waters of the Aegean Sea at Nea Peramos are known for their amazing clarity and captivating turquoise colour, which gently fades into a deeper blue as we go further in. The transparency is such that we can easily see the seabed, which adds a special charm to every swim. Furthermore, the entry into the sea is very gradual, maintaining a shallow depth for several metres, making it an exceptionally safe and suitable place for young children and for those who do not feel very comfortable swimming in deep water. The water temperature, especially in the summer months, is pleasantly warm, perfect for cooling off and enjoying long dips. It is, without a doubt, one of the best beaches in the Kavala region for enjoying a relaxing and safe swim.
