How to Get to Playa de Agia Anna

Getting to Playa de Agia Anna is part of the adventure and, fortunately, quite straightforward. Being on Euboea, an island connected to the Greek mainland by a bridge in Chalcis (Chalkida), we have the advantage of not relying exclusively on ferries, which greatly facilitates access. If we are coming from Athens, the most common route is to drive to Chalcis and then follow the coastal road towards the north of the island.

From Athens

From Athens, the drive takes approximately two and a half to three hours, depending on traffic. We will take the E75 highway north towards Lamia and then turn off towards Chalcis. Once in Chalcis, we will follow the signs to Agia Anna. The road is scenic and offers us impressive views of the Euboean landscape, with its pine-covered mountains and hidden coves. It's a journey we really enjoy, as it allows us to disconnect from routine and gradually immerse ourselves in the island atmosphere.

Public Transport

For those who prefer not to drive, there are intercity buses (KTEL Evias) connecting Athens with Chalcis, and from Chalcis, other buses can take us to the Agia Anna area. Schedules are usually regular during the high season, although we always recommend checking in advance. While the bus gives us the opportunity to relax and enjoy the scenery without worries, having our own vehicle gives us the flexibility to explore the surroundings at our own pace, something we highly value in destinations like this.

The Sand and Water

The Playa de Agia Anna experience begins the moment our feet touch its unique surface. Here, we won't find the fine, white sand of some tropical islands, nor the large, round pebbles of other Mediterranean beaches.
