How to Get to Playa de Xylokastro

Getting to Playa de Xylokastro is a simple and pleasant task, especially if we are coming from Athens, the Greek capital. We, like most travelers, will probably land at Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH). From there, the most comfortable and efficient way to get there is by car. We will take the A8 highway, a modern and well-maintained road that will lead us directly west, along the coast of the Saronic Gulf and then towards the Gulf of Corinth. The journey takes approximately between 1 hour and 30 minutes and 2 hours, depending on traffic, offering us spectacular views of the sea and the Peloponnesian landscape. The distance is about 120 kilometers.

If we prefer public transport, we can also opt for the intercity KTEL Corinthia buses. There are regular services from the Kifissos bus station in Athens to Xylokastro. Although the journey is a bit longer, it allows us to relax and enjoy the scenery without worrying about driving. Once in Xylokastro, the beach is easily accessible on foot from most of the town's accommodations, as it stretches along its promenade. For those coming from the city of Corinth, the drive is about 30-40 minutes, covering a distance of approximately 35 kilometers, making it an excellent option for a day trip from the provincial capital.
