How to get to Playa de Loggas (Sunset Beach)

Getting to Playa de Loggas is part of the adventure, and the reward is well worth the effort. Located near the small village of Peroulades, at the northwestern tip of Corfu, the beach is mainly accessible by rental car or scooter. From Corfu Town (Kerkyra), the journey takes approximately 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic. We always recommend renting a vehicle, as it offers the freedom to explore the surroundings at our own pace. There is a free parking area at the top of the cliff, right next to the famous 7th Heaven Cafe, which is the starting point for descending to the beach.

Beach access

Once at the parking lot, the path to the beach is via a series of stairs carved into the cliff. Although the descent may seem a bit steep for some, it is completely safe and well-maintained. We recommend wearing comfortable, non-slip footwear, especially if the stairs are wet. It is important to consider that, due to these stairs, full accessibility for people with reduced mobility is limited. The experience of going down the stairs, with the panoramic views opening up at every step, is in itself a prelude to the beauty that awaits us below. For those who prefer to admire without descending, the 7th Heaven Cafe offers unbeatable views from its glass platform, suspended over the cliff.

The sand and the water

Once at the base of the cliffs, we find a relatively narrow but incredibly charming beach. The sand here is of a mixed type, a combination of fine golden sand with small pebbles that give it a natural and rustic touch. The predominant ground type is sand, making it comfortable for walking and spreading out our towel. The feeling underfoot is pleasant, and the light color of the sand contrasts wonderfully with the turquoise blue of the sea.

The waters of Playa de Loggas are, in general, calm and crystal clear, ideal for a refreshing swim. Being a cove protected by the cliffs, the waves are usually gentle, making it a safe place to swim. A distinctive feature of this beach in Corfu is the presence of clay in the cliffs. It is common to see visitors covering themselves with this natural clay, which is said to have beneficial properties for the skin, turning the beach into a kind of open-air spa. We couldn't resist trying it, and the feeling on the skin afterwards is truly revitalizing. The combination of soft sand, clear water, and natural clay creates a unique sensory experience that connects us directly with the nature of Corfu.

This iconic chiringuito and restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it is a viewpoint with privileged views. From here, we can enjoy refreshing drinks, snacks, or even a full meal, all while contemplating the stunning seascape. The cafe features a spectacular glass platform that extends over the cliff, offering a dizzying perspective and unparalleled photo opportunities. Bathrooms/WC are available for cafe customers, and they also usually offer basic showers to freshen up. Furthermore, the cafe often provides umbrellas and sunbeds on its terrace or in designated areas with views, though not directly on the small strip of beach sand.

On the beach itself, services are minimal, which contributes to its natural charm. There is no official lifeguard service, so caution is key when swimming. The beauty of Loggas lies in its simplicity and the majesty of its surroundings, complemented by the amenities offered by the cafe at the top. It is a perfect combination for those seeking to relax in a natural setting without giving up certain comforts.
