How to Get to Playa de Kimilia

Getting to Playa de Kimilia is part of the adventure and charm that define it, as its relative isolation is what has preserved its virgin character. The beach is located on the Erisos peninsula, in northern Cephalonia, very close to the picturesque village of Fiskardo, one of the most cosmopolitan and charming places on the island.

To get there, the most common way is by car. From Fiskardo, head south on the main road. After a few kilometers, you will find a sign, often discreet, indicating the turnoff to Kimilia. It is important to pay attention, as signage in this area can be minimal. Once you take the turnoff, the road becomes narrower and, at times, a dirt track that descends towards the coast. We recommend driving with caution, especially if you are not used to Greek mountain roads.

The Final Access on Foot

At the end of the dirt track, you will find a small space where you can leave your car. From there, access to the beach is exclusively on foot, via a path that descends down the hillside. This path, although not excessively long (perhaps a 10-15 minute walk), can be somewhat steep and rocky in some sections. We advise wearing comfortable and suitable footwear for walking, such as sneakers or trekking sandals, and avoiding flip-flops. It is essential to pay attention to the path, especially on the way back, as the ascent can be a bit more demanding. For those who prefer a more comfortable arrival or a different experience, it is also possible to access Kimilia by sea, by renting a small boat or joining a boat excursion from Fiskardo, which allows you to admire the coast from a unique perspective and land directly on the shore.
