The last few kilometers are a steep descent, with tight curves winding through a dense pine forest. Despite the challenges, the panoramic views along the way are absolutely stunning, offering previews of the beauty that awaits you. There is a parking area at the top and at the end of the road, although it can fill up in high season. Driving with caution is essential, but the reward upon arrival is incomparable.

Sea Access

For those who prefer a more relaxed experience or simply want to enjoy the views from the sea, excursion boats are an excellent option. Numerous boats depart daily from the port of Pigadia, offering trips to Apella, often combined with stops at other nearby beaches like Kyra Panagia. This is a fantastic way to admire the rugged coast of Karpathos and reach the beach without worrying about driving. The boats usually anchor near the shore, and passengers are taken to the beach in small boats or can swim the last few meters. It is a picturesque and highly recommended experience.
