How to Get to Playa de Chrisi Milia

Getting to Playa de Chrisi Milia is part of the adventure of exploring Alonissos. The island of Alonissos, belonging to the Sporades archipelago, is mainly accessible by ferry or catamaran from various ports on the Greek mainland and nearby islands. The most common way to reach Alonissos is by flying to Skiathos Airport (JSI) and then taking a ferry or hydrofoil from Skiathos port to Patitiri, the main port of Alonissos. There are also direct connections from Volos and Agios Konstantinos on the mainland, and in high season, from Thessaloniki and Evia.

Once in Patitiri, Playa de Chrisi Milia is located about 5 kilometers to the northeast. We have several options to get there:

• By rental car or motorbike: This is, without a doubt, the most comfortable and flexible way to explore the island and its coves. There are several rental agencies in Patitiri. The journey to Chrisi Milia is straightforward, well-signposted, and runs along an asphalt road offering spectacular panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. The trip takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
• By taxi: Taxis are available at Patitiri port. It's a quick and direct option, although it can be a bit more expensive, especially if we plan several visits to the beach.
• By local bus: During the summer high season, Alonissos has a bus service connecting Patitiri with the most popular beaches, including Chrisi Milia. Schedules are usually regular, but we always recommend checking the latest updates at the bus station or designated stops.
• On foot or by bicycle: For the more adventurous and hiking lovers, it is possible to walk, although the path can be a bit long under the summer sun. By bicycle, it's a pleasant ride if we are used to the island's ups and downs.

The transparency is such that we can easily see the seabed, even several meters deep, inviting snorkeling exploration. Furthermore, the sea here is notably shallow in its first few meters, making the entry very gentle and safe, especially for young children or those who don't feel very comfortable swimming in deep water.
