Getting to Playa de Makri is a straightforward process, given its proximity to Alexandroupoli. If we are coming from the center of Alexandroupoli, the distance is approximately 10 to 12 kilometers to the west. We recommend several options to get there:

Schedules are usually frequent during the peak summer season, although we always advise checking the updated routes and frequencies at the local bus station (KTEL Evros) to plan our trip optimally.

By taxi

A taxi from the center of Alexandroupoli is another comfortable alternative, especially if we are traveling in a group or with luggage. The cost is reasonable for the distance and will drop us off directly at our desired point on the beach, maximizing our enjoyment time. It is a good option if we seek maximum comfort without the worry of parking.

The sand and water

Playa de Makri captivates us from the first moment with its natural characteristics. The fine, golden sand stretches along the coast, soft to the touch and perfect for laying out our towel and enjoying the sun. We do not find sharp rocks or uncomfortable pebbles in the main bathing area, making it exceptionally pleasant for walking barefoot and for children to play safely. This allows us to secure our spot in the sun or shade, without the need to carry our own equipment. Beach bars and restaurants
