How to Get to Playa del Rey

Getting to Playa del Rey in Sueca is relatively straightforward, given its good connection with the main communication routes of the province of Valencia. We always recommend planning the journey in advance, especially if traveling during the high season, to avoid any setbacks.

By Car

The most comfortable and flexible option for most visitors is by car. From Valencia city, the journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. We must take the A-38 motorway heading south, which then becomes the N-332. The signs towards Sueca and the beaches are clear. Once in the municipality of Sueca, the beach is well signposted. The CV-502 road takes us directly to the coastal area of Mareny de Barraquetes, where Playa del Rey is located. There are several free parking areas near the beach, although they can fill up quickly in the summer months, so arriving early is a good strategy.

By Public Transport

If we prefer public transport, we can take a commuter train (line C-1) from the Estación del Norte in Valencia to Sueca station. The train journey takes about 30 minutes. Once in Sueca, the beach is not within walking distance, so we will need to take a local bus or a taxi. During the summer months, bus lines are usually set up connecting the town center of Sueca with its beaches, including Playa del Rey. It is advisable to check the schedules and frequencies in advance, as they may vary depending on the season.

Other Means

For the more adventurous or those staying nearby, the bicycle is an excellent option. There are bike lanes and routes connecting Sueca with its beaches, allowing us to enjoy the landscape of the rice fields and the Valencian orchard. However, it is also when the beach is most crowded, especially on weekends in July and August. If we don't mind the crowds and enjoy the summer bustle, then go for it. It is the perfect time to experience the full experience of one of the most popular Valencia beaches.

For us, spring and autumn are the secret seasons of Playa del Rey. The weather is still very pleasant, with mild temperatures and many hours of sunshine, but the influx of people is considerably lower. We can enjoy long walks along the shore in complete tranquility, read a book without interruptions, or simply contemplate the sea in a serene atmosphere. The water may be a bit cooler than in summer, but it is still suitable for a brave dip.
