How to Get to Playa de Capri

Getting to Playa de Capri in La Ràpita is relatively straightforward, making it an accessible destination for all travelers. We always recommend planning the route in advance, although the signage in the area is usually quite clear.

By Private Car

For us, the car is the most comfortable and flexible option to get to Playa de Capri. From the city of Tarragona, the journey is approximately an hour and a half, following the AP-7 southbound to exit 41 (Amposta/Sant Carles de la Ràpita) and then taking the N-340 to the municipality. Once in La Ràpita, the beach is well signposted and is located in the urban area, near the promenade. There is public parking available nearby, including regulated parking zones and some free areas, especially if you move a little away from the epicenter during the high season. We advise arriving early during the summer months to secure a good spot.

By Public Transport

If you prefer public transport, you can reach La Ràpita by bus from several cities in Catalonia, including Tarragona, Reus, or even Barcelona. The La Ràpita bus station is located in the center of the town, at a distance that can be comfortably covered on foot to Playa de Capri, taking a pleasant walk along the promenade. There is also a local taxi service if you don't wish to walk with luggage. There is no train station in La Ràpita; the closest would be L'Aldea-Amposta-Tortosa, from where you would need to take a bus or taxi to the final destination.

Access on Foot and by Bicycle

One of the great advantages of Playa de Capri is its excellent integration into the urban fabric of La Ràpita. This means that if you are staying in the municipality, you can easily access it on foot or by bicycle via the extensive promenade. It's an option we love, as it allows you to enjoy the coastal landscape and the sea breeze even before stepping onto the sand. Furthermore, it is a fully accessible access with walkways that facilitate transit for people with reduced mobility right up to the shoreline, which we greatly appreciate.
