How to Get to Cala Calafató

Getting to Cala Calafató beach is relatively straightforward, which adds to its appeal, especially for families or those who prefer convenience. It is located in the Tres Calas urbanization, within L'Ametlla de Mar. If we come by car, which is the most common and recommended option for exploring this area of the Costa Daurada, we can easily access it from the AP-7 or the N-340. From the highway, we will take exit 39 (L'Ametlla de Mar) and follow the signs towards the urbanization or the cove itself.

Once in the urbanization, we will find areas where we can park our vehicle, often on the streets adjacent to the cove. It's important to consider that during high season, these spaces can be scarce, so we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. Access to the sand is comfortable and does not present major difficulties, making it suitable for all visitors. Although there is no direct public transport that drops us off right on the sand, local taxis or even a pleasant walk from some areas of the urbanization are viable options. For us, the freedom that a car offers to explore the surroundings is unbeatable.

The Sand and Water

The sand of Cala Calafató is, without a doubt, one of its great attractions. It is fine, golden sand, very pleasant to the touch and perfect for sunbathing or for children to build sandcastles.
