From the moment we set foot on Playa de Pinténs, in the heart of the Morrazo peninsula, we knew we were facing a small treasure of the Rías Baixas. Located in the charming municipality of Cangas, in the province of Pontevedra, this beach offers us a perfect combination of serenity, natural beauty, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it an idyllic destination for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle and reconnect with the essence of the Galician Atlantic. It's one of those beaches that, without being grand in size, wins us over with its intimacy and the gentle character of its waters.

The name Pinténs evokes an image of tranquility, and the reality does not disappoint. With its fine, golden sand that gently extends into crystal-clear waters of emerald and turquoise hues, this beach invites us to calm and leisurely enjoyment. Sheltered in the Aldán estuary, its waters are usually calm, making it an exceptionally safe and pleasant place for swimming, especially for the youngest members of the family. How to Get to Playa de Pinténs

Getting to Playa de Pinténs is relatively straightforward, and the approach experience already immerses us in the beautiful landscapes of Morrazo. If we're coming from Vigo, the most comfortable route is by car, taking the Atlantic Highway (AP-9) and turning off towards Cangas via the Corredor do Morrazo (CG-4.1). Once in Cangas, signs towards Aldán and the area's beaches will guide us without difficulty. From Pontevedra, the route is equally direct, following the PO-551 that skirts the Pontevedra estuary and leads us into the peninsula.

Car Access and Parking

We always prefer the car to reach the beaches in this area, as it gives us the freedom to explore the surroundings. For Playa de Pinténs, finding parking is usually not a problem, especially outside the high season. There is a designated Parking area or nearby spaces where you can park without major complications, although, logically, in the middle of August it may require a bit more patience. It's an outdoor parking lot, often free, which allows us to leave the car just a few meters from the sand, which is very convenient if we're loaded with umbrellas, towels, and other beach gear.

Public Transport

Although the car is the most practical option, it is also possible to arrive by public transport. From Cangas, there are local bus lines that connect to nearby parishes, including Aldán, which is very close to Pinténs. From there, a pleasant fifteen or twenty-minute walk will take us directly to the sand. However, we must consider that the frequency of these buses may be limited, especially on weekends or outside the summer season, so we recommend planning the trip well if we choose this alternative.

The Sand and the Water

Playa de Pinténs captivates us, first and foremost, with the quality of its sand. It is fine, golden sand, the kind that feels soft underfoot and invites you to walk barefoot along the shore. This characteristic makes it very pleasant for sunbathing, building sandcastles with children, or simply enjoying the touch of nature. The mix of its grain and its toasted color gives it a very welcoming and Mediterranean appearance, despite being in the heart of the Galician Atlantic. The transparency of its waters is another of its great attractions; they are so crystal-clear that on sunny days, we can easily see the seabed, inviting us to explore underwater life with a snorkel mask. The water temperature, although Atlantic, is refreshing and very pleasant in the summer months, offering us the perfect relief for hot days.

Although Playa de Pinténs maintains an air of naturalness and is not massively urbanized, it has the essential services that we value for a comfortable and safe beach day.
