How to Get to Playa de Paxariñas

Getting to Playa de Paxariñas is relatively straightforward, although in high season it may require a bit of patience due to the popularity of the Sanxenxo and Portonovo area. We recommend planning your trip, especially if you're coming by car, to ensure a hassle-free experience.

Access by Car

The beach is strategically located between Portonovo and the town of Sanxenxo, specifically in the parish of Adina. If you're coming from Sanxenxo, you should take the PO-308 road towards Portonovo/O Grove. You'll see signs for the beach, which is usually well signposted. From Portonovo, the journey is even shorter, following the same road in the opposite direction. There is limited parking near the beach, which is a plus, although, as we mentioned, in the summer months (July and August) it fills up easily. Our recommendation is to arrive early if you want to secure a spot.

Public Transport and on Foot

For those who prefer to leave the car, it's possible to reach Paxariñas on foot or by bicycle from Portonovo or Sanxenxo via the pedestrian walkways that connect the different beaches along the coast. It's a pleasant walk with spectacular views, allowing you to enjoy the surroundings even before reaching the sand. There are also intercity bus lines connecting Sanxenxo with Portonovo and other nearby towns, with stops a reasonable distance from the beach. Check local timetables, as they may vary depending on the season. This option is ideal for avoiding parking stress and enjoying the sea breeze without worries.
