For us, Lapamán represents the quintessence of the family-friendly Galician beach. The view that opens before our eyes is simply spectacular, with the Ría de Pontevedra stretching out majestically and, on the horizon, the silhouette of the Illa de Ons, part of the Parque Nacional das Illas Atlánticas de Galicia. It is a natural canvas that changes hue with every hour of the day, offering us sunsets that are etched in memory.

How to Get to Playa de Lapamán

Getting to Playa de Lapamán is relatively straightforward, which adds to its appeal, especially if we are traveling with children or want to avoid complications. Its privileged location, halfway between Bueu and Marín, offers us several options to access this coastal paradise.

By Car

For us, the most comfortable and usual way to get to Lapamán is by car. The beach is well signposted and easily accessed from the provincial road EP-1301, which connects Bueu with Marín and runs along much of the coast. If we are coming from Pontevedra, the most direct route would be to take the PO-313 towards Marín and then the EP-1301. If we start from Vigo, we can head towards Cangas or Moaña and then cross the Puente de Rande to take the PO-551 and then turn off towards Bueu, or, if we prefer the inland road, we can take the AP-9 to Pontevedra and from there to Marín/Bueu.

One of the great advantages of Lapamán is that it has extensive parking areas. During the summer months, although the influx is considerable, we generally find a spot without too much difficulty, which is a relief. There are designated parking areas nearby, some of them paid during high season, but with reasonable rates. This allows us to arrive, park our vehicle, and be on the sand in a matter of minutes, loaded with our towels, umbrellas, and coolers.

By Public Transport

Although the car is the most recommended, it is also possible to reach Lapamán using public transport, albeit with less frequency and flexibility. There are bus lines connecting Pontevedra with Bueu and Marín. Once in either of these towns, we could take a taxi or, if the distance is manageable and we feel like a walk, walk to the beach. However, for a full beach day, especially if we are carrying luggage, public transport can be less convenient. We always opt for the freedom the car gives us to also explore the surroundings.

On Foot or by Bicycle

For the more active, the area offers routes and trails that allow you to reach Lapamán on foot or by bicycle. The coastal road EP-1301 itself has sections with sidewalks or verges that invite a walk with sea views. It is an excellent way to enjoy the landscape and get some exercise before diving into the refreshing waters of the ría. We love the idea of combining sport with beach relaxation.
