How to Get to Playa de los Terreros

Getting to Playa de los Terreros is relatively straightforward, making it an accessible destination for many. If we come by car, which is the most comfortable and common option for exploring the Murcian coast, the beach is well signposted from the main road connecting Águilas with Pulpí and San Juan de los Terreros (Almería). From the center of Águilas, the journey is short, just a few minutes by car, following the RM-333 heading south. The road infrastructure is good, with roads in excellent condition that make the trip very pleasant.

By Car

We always prefer the car for the freedom it gives us. From the A-7 (Mediterranean Highway), we can take the exit towards Águilas and then follow the signs. There are several parking areas near the beach, some free on adjacent streets and others paid, especially during high season. Although we don't always find parking right on the front line, the truth is we've never had problems leaving the car at a reasonable distance, which makes arriving with all our beach gear much easier.

Public Transport

While public transport is an option, it's important to consider that frequency may be lower, especially outside the summer season. There are bus lines connecting Águilas with its districts and beaches, including Los Terreros. However, for us, the flexibility of the car is unbeatable, especially if we're thinking about exploring the surrounding areas. We always recommend checking updated schedules if you choose this route.

The Sand and Water

The sand at Playa de los Terreros is, without exaggeration, a delight. We find fine sand of a golden hue that shines under the Mediterranean sun. It's soft to the touch, perfect for walking barefoot, building sandcastles with the little ones, or simply spreading out our towel and feeling its warmth. This characteristic makes it extremely comfortable and pleasant for spending hours and hours by the sea.

But if the sand is a strong point, the water is not far behind. The waters of this Águilas beach are famous for their transparency and calmness. They are, for the most part, calm waters with little wave action, making them a paradise for safe swimming, even for young children or those who don't feel entirely comfortable in choppier waters. The water temperature is usually very pleasant, especially from late spring well into autumn, inviting us to prolong our dips. Furthermore, the water quality is consistently high, a factor that reaffirms our choice of this beach as a preferred destination. The presence of the Blue Flag is clear testimony to its excellent condition and the services it offers.

• Parking: As already mentioned, finding parking is feasible, which is a big plus. It allows us to arrive with our car loaded with umbrellas and coolers without excessive worries.
• Umbrellas and Sunbeds: For those days when we prefer not to carry our own equipment, the beach offers umbrella and sunbed rental services. It's a convenience we appreciate, especially when we want to relax completely without thinking about setting up and packing up.
• Lifeguard Service: Safety is paramount, and at Playa de los Terreros we have a lifeguard service during the high season. This gives us great peace of mind, knowing there are professionals watching over our safety and that of our loved ones.
