We always recommend planning the journey a little, especially in high season, to avoid setbacks.

By Car

If we come by car, the A-7 highway (or AP-7 if we prefer the toll road) is the main artery connecting Estepona with the rest of the Costa del Sol. Taking the Estepona Oeste exit, we will find clear signs towards the marina and, from there, to Playa del Cristo. The good news is that the beach has several free parking areas, which is a great relief in such a busy area. Although in the summer months it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot first thing in the morning, there is constant turnover and with a little patience, we always find a place. We usually arrive early to secure a good spot and enjoy the whole morning.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer not to drive, Estepona has an urban bus service connecting the city center with the coastal areas. Several lines have stops relatively close to the beach. Also, from the center of Estepona, a pleasant 15-20 minute walk along the promenade will take us directly to Playa del Cristo. It's a highly recommended walk, especially at sunset, as it allows us to enjoy the sea views and the coastal atmosphere.

On Foot or by Bicycle

If we are staying in Estepona, especially near the port or the old town, the option of going on foot or by bicycle is fantastic. The excellently maintained promenade offers us a safe and picturesque path. It's an ideal way to immerse ourselves in the local atmosphere and enjoy the sea air before reaching our final destination, the beautiful Playa del Cristo.
