It's a place where time seems to stand still, inviting us to disconnect and enjoy the gentle murmur of the waves and the scent of maritime pine.

When we think of the beaches of Huelva, images of extensive golden sandy beaches and warm waters often come to mind, and Playa de los Enebrales more than meets these expectations. What makes it special is its semi-virgin character, its perfect integration with the Natural Area of Los Enebrales and La Flecha del Rompido, creating a backdrop of dunes and vegetation that sets it apart. It's the ideal destination for those seeking a balance between the comfort of services and the purity of a well-preserved natural environment.

How to Get to Playa de los Enebrales

Getting to Playa de los Enebrales is relatively straightforward, although its natural character means the last stretch is done on foot, which adds a special charm to the arrival. If we're coming from Punta Umbría, we can take the N-442 road towards El Portil. Along this road, we'll find several entrances and parking areas, some of them equipped to facilitate access via wooden walkways that wind through the pine forest.

By Car

The car is probably the most comfortable option to get there. There are public parking areas, some with natural shade thanks to the pines, although they can fill up quickly during the high season. From Huelva city, the journey takes about 20-25 minutes. It's important to remember that, once the vehicle is parked, access to the sand is via these wooden walkways, designed to protect the delicate dune vegetation.

By Public Transport

During the summer season, bus lines usually operate connecting Punta Umbría with nearby areas and, sometimes, with stops close to the beach entrances. However, for greater flexibility and to explore the surroundings, the car remains the best option.

The Sand and Water

Playa de los Enebrales delights us with fine, golden sand, characteristic of the beaches of Huelva. It's a pleasure to walk barefoot on it, feel its warmth under our feet, and watch as the sun tints it with honey tones. The beach is quite extensive, with almost 4 kilometers in length and a width that allows for plenty of space, even on the busiest days.

The Atlantic waters in this area are generally calm and clean, which has earned it the Blue Flag distinction on numerous occasions. The entry into the sea is gentle and gradual, making it a safe and pleasant place for swimming, both for adults and children. The water temperature, although Atlantic, is pleasant during the summer months, inviting us for a refreshing dip.

Services and Facilities

Despite its natural appearance, Playa de los Enebrales has the essential services to ensure a comfortable and safe day. As a Blue Flag beach, we can expect a good level of maintenance and amenities.

• Lifeguards: During the high season, the beach has lifeguard posts that watch over the safety of swimmers. It's essential to always heed their instructions.
• Showers and Toilets/WC: At the main access points and near the chiringuitos, we'll find showers to rinse off the salt and well-maintained public toilets.
• Chiringuitos: Scattered along the beach, several chiringuitos offer us the chance to enjoy a cold drink, an ice cream, or even a light meal with sea views. They are perfect places to take shelter from the sun and recharge.
• Sunshades and Sun Loungers: In some areas, especially near the chiringuitos, it's possible to rent sunshades and sun loungers, adding an extra level of comfort to our stay.
• Parking: As already mentioned, there are parking areas near the access points.
• Wooden Walkways: A distinctive and very useful feature are the walkways that cross the dunes, facilitating access to the sand and protecting the dune ecosystem.

Best Time to Visit

The choice of the best time to visit Playa de los Enebrales will largely depend on our personal preferences. Each season offers a different experience:

• Spring (April-June): For us, this is one of the best times. Temperatures are pleasant, days are long, and the number of visitors is lower. It's ideal for long walks, enjoying nature at its peak, and feeling the tranquility of the beach almost to ourselves. Services may be more limited at the beginning of the season.
• Summer (July-August): This is the peak season. The beach is in full operation with all services available, and the atmosphere is lively. Temperatures are warm, perfect for swimming. However, this is also when the beach receives the most visitors, especially in August. If we're looking for a more vibrant atmosphere and don't mind the company, it's an excellent time.
• Autumn (September-October): Similar to spring, autumn gifts us with sunny days and mild temperatures. The summer crowds have disappeared, and the beach regains its peace. It's a wonderful time...
