From our perspective as lovers of the Costa Brava, Playa de Sant Feliu is undoubtedly one of those gems that perfectly combines the comfort of an urban beach with the natural charm of this coastline. Located in the heart of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, in the province of Girona, this beach is the epicenter of the town's summer life, a place where the sea and Mediterranean culture meet in perfect harmony.

We are looking at a beach of fine, golden sand, bathed by the crystal-clear and calm waters of the Mediterranean, making it a favorite destination for families, couples, and anyone looking for a day of sun and sea without complications. Its privileged location, flanked by the port and the iconic monastery, gives it a unique character and a picturesque landscape that invites both relaxation and exploration.

How to Get to Playa de Sant Feliu

Getting to Playa de Sant Feliu is really simple, given its central location in the town. For those of us coming by car, the town of Sant Feliu de Guíxols is well connected via the C-31 from Girona or Barcelona. Once in the town, finding the beach is easy; simply follow the signs to the center or the port. We always recommend planning your arrival, especially in high season, as parking can be a challenge.

Parking and Public Transport

There are several paid parking areas nearby, as well as underground car parks that facilitate access. If we prefer public transport, Sant Feliu de Guíxols has bus lines connecting it to nearby major cities and to Girona train station, from where you can take a direct bus. It's a comfortable and sustainable option to avoid the stress of looking for parking. For the more adventurous, the Camí de Ronda offers spectacular views if we walk from nearby coves.

The Sand and Water

One of the aspects that captivates us most about Playa de Sant Feliu is undoubtedly the quality of its sand and the transparency of its waters. The sand is fine and golden, very pleasant to the touch and perfect for building sandcastles with the little ones or simply for laying out a towel and enjoying the sun. It's not the type of sand that sticks excessively, which is always appreciated at the end of the day.

The waters, on the other hand, are generally very calm and shallow at the shore, making them safe for children to swim in. Their turquoise color and cleanliness are constant, having been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag, a distinction that certifies their excellent quality. Snorkeling in its rockier areas, near the ends, allows us to discover interesting marine life, albeit without great pretensions, ideal for beginners in the underwater world.

Best Time to Visit

For us, choosing the best time to visit Playa de Sant Feliu depends a lot on what we are looking for in our experience. While summer (July and August) is the high season par excellence, with the most vibrant atmosphere and all services at full capacity, it is also when the beach is most crowded.

Low and Mid Season

If what we are looking for is tranquility and equally pleasant weather, we highly recommend late spring (May and June) or early autumn (September and October). During these months, temperatures are mild, the sun is generous, and the influx of people is much lower, allowing us to enjoy the beach with more space and serenity. Furthermore, accommodation prices are usually more economical. Even in winter, a walk along Playa de Sant Feliu has a special charm, with the sea breeze and calm inviting reflection.
