How to Get to Playa de Fornells

Although it is not a cove with mass access, its location in the municipality of Begur, in the province of Girona, makes it relatively accessible, especially if we plan well. We always advise considering transportation options for a hassle-free arrival.

By Car

For us, the most comfortable option to reach Playa de Fornells is by car. From Begur, the journey is short and picturesque, following signs to Fornells or Aiguablava. The road winds through pine trees and offers spectacular views of the coastline, which already hint at the beauty awaiting us. Once in Fornells, we will find parking areas, although it's important to know that in high season (July and August) they are usually limited and paid. Our recommendation is to arrive early in the morning to secure a good spot and avoid frustration.

Public Transport

Although less direct, it is possible to reach Begur by bus from cities like Girona or Palafrugell. However, from the center of Begur to Playa de Fornells, public transport options are considerably reduced. For this last stretch, we could opt for a taxi, especially if traveling with luggage. For the more active, a walk is a fantastic alternative, as it allows us to enjoy the famous Camí de Ronda and its stunning landscapes.

On Foot (Camí de Ronda)

The Camí de Ronda is, for us, one of the best ways to approach Fornells. This coastal path connects the cove with other nearby gems like Aiguablava or Sa Tuna, offering routes of varying difficulty and duration. Walking the Camí de Ronda allows us to admire the lush Mediterranean vegetation, cliffs, and crystal-clear waters from a unique perspective, before culminating our walk with a refreshing swim at Playa de Fornells. It is an experience we highly recommend to hiking and nature lovers.
