It is the perfect setting to disconnect, dive into its seabed, or simply enjoy the sun in an unparalleled environment. For us, it is one of those beaches in Girona that you must know.

How to get to Cala Bona

Getting to Cala Bona is part of the adventure. If you come by car, the best option is to park in the center of Tossa de Mar and from there, start the walk.

• On foot from Tossa de Mar: The most common option. From the center, follow the GI-681 road towards Sant Feliu de Guíxols. You will find a signposted turnoff and a path that goes down to Cala Bona. It is a walk of about 20-30 minutes, with slopes and stairs, so we recommend comfortable shoes.
• By boat or kayak: For the more adventurous, renting a kayak or a small boat in Tossa de Mar is an excellent alternative to skirt the coast and discover the cove from the sea.

The sand and the water

When we talk about Cala Bona, we also highlight its characteristics: its sand and, above all, its waters. The cove is small, about 60 meters. The sand here is mixed, composed of coarser grains and small stones or pebbles, mixed with rocky areas. This gives it a wilder and more natural look. We always recommend bringing water shoes.

And speaking of the water... that's where Cala Bona shines! The waters are of an impressive turquoise blue, with a transparency that invites you to dive in. The water quality is exceptional, making it a true natural aquarium. It is an ideal place for swimming and cooling off, and thanks to its protected location, the waters are usually quite calm. The predominant type of seabed is a mixture of coarse sand and rock, ideal for snorkeling.

Services and facilities

Cala Bona stands out for its natural and tranquil character, which means you won't find the same number of services as on urbanized beaches. And that's part of its charm! There are no beach bars directly on the sand, nor showers, nor public toilets. You also won't find lifeguard services directly at the cove. It is essential to be cautious and responsible with your safety and the environment.

• Spring (April-May): Mild climate, fewer tourists. Ideal for walking and exploring. The water is a bit cool, but you can already enjoy it.
• Summer (June-August): High season. Sun, perfect water for bathing. More visitors, so we recommend going early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
• Autumn (September-October): Pleasant temperatures, the water retains its warmth. The crowds disappear. Ideal for snorkeling and tranquility.
• Winter (November-March): Refuge of absolute peace. Not suitable for swimming, but perfect for walking and photographing without tourists.
