How to Get to Playa de Malkorbe

Getting to Playa de Malkorbe is quite simple, and its accessibility is one of its strong points that makes it a fantastic option for everyone. The beach is located east of Getaria's town center, allowing us to easily combine a day of sun and sea with a stroll through the picturesque town.

By Car

If we come by car, the most common way to get there is via the N-634 road, which connects Getaria with other coastal towns like Zarautz or Zumaia, and with the capital, Donostia-San Sebastián. Once in Getaria, signage will guide us towards the beach area. There is a paid public parking nearby, especially useful during the summer months, although we recommend arriving early to secure a spot, as Getaria is a very popular destination. From the parking lot, access to the sand is practically direct and very comfortable, without significant slopes.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, there are bus lines connecting Getaria with Donostia-San Sebastián, Zarautz, and other nearby municipalities. The bus company Lurraldebus operates these routes. The bus stop closest to Getaria's center will leave us within a short walking distance from the beach. It is an excellent option if we want to avoid the stress of parking and simply enjoy the coastal landscape during the journey.

On Foot

From Getaria's center, Playa de Malkorbe is a pleasant walk of no more than 10-15 minutes. We can walk along the harbor and follow the coast, enjoying the views of the Cantabrian Sea and the 'Ratón de Getaria'. It is a highly recommended walk, especially at sunset, when the colors of the sky reflect on the sea and the town lights up with a special charm. For us, this proximity to the town is an undeniable advantage, as it allows us to come and go easily, exploring the charms of Getaria before or after a refreshing swim.
