How to Get to Playa de las Agujas

Getting to Playa de las Agujas is relatively straightforward, which contributes to its popularity and accessibility. We always recommend planning the journey to enjoy it to the fullest from the first moment.

From Fuerteventura Airport (FUE)

Fuerteventura Airport, located in El Matorral, near Puerto del Rosario, is the main entry point to the island. From there, the most comfortable way to reach Playa de las Agujas is by rental car. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes, covering about 35 kilometers along the FV-1 and then the FV-1a towards Corralejo. The roads are in excellent condition and the signage is clear, making driving very easy. There are several car rental companies at the airport, and we always suggest booking in advance, especially during high season.

From Corralejo

If you are already staying in Corralejo, the beach is just a stone's throw away. You can get there in several ways:

• Walking: If your accommodation is in the south of Corralejo or near the Grandes Playas area, you can walk there in about 15-30 minutes, enjoying a pleasant stroll along the coast or the promenade. It's a fantastic option for those who enjoy physical activity and the views.
• By car: This is the fastest and most comfortable option. The La Oliva beach has nearby parking areas, although they can fill up quickly during high season. Access is direct from the FV-1a.
• By public transport: There are bus lines connecting Corralejo with the Grandes Playas areas, which will leave you a short distance from Playa de las Agujas. Check local timetables, as they may vary depending on the season.

From Other Parts of Fuerteventura

If you are coming from the south of the island, such as Morro Jable or Costa Calma, the journey will be longer, approximately 1.5 - 2 hours by car. The FV-2 will take you to Puerto del Rosario, and from there you will take the FV-1/FV-1a towards Corralejo. It is always advisable to have a GPS or a maps app to guide you, although the island is easy to navigate.
