How to Get to Playa de Poniente

Getting to Playa de Poniente in La Línea de la Concepción is quite straightforward, given its urban location and excellent connectivity. We always recommend planning the route in advance, although the options are varied and comfortable for most travelers.

By Car

If we come by car, Playa de Poniente is very accessible from any point in La Línea or the Campo de Gibraltar region. From the A-7 (or E-15) motorway, which runs along the Andalusian Mediterranean coast, we must take the exit towards La Línea de la Concepción. Once in the municipality, the signs to the beach are clear, as it borders much of the urban area. Finding parking, especially in high season, may require some patience, but there are parking zones on adjacent streets and, sometimes, small public or private car parks near the marina area. We always try to arrive early to secure a good spot.

By Public Transport

La Línea de la Concepción has a good network of urban buses connecting different points of the city with the Playa de Poniente area. If we arrive in La Línea by intercity bus (from Algeciras, for example), the bus station is a reasonable distance from the beach, which we can reach with a pleasant walk or by taking an urban bus. For those coming from further away, Gibraltar Airport (GIB) is literally a stone's throw away, just across the border, and Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) or Jerez Airport (XRY) are the main options for international flights, from where we can rent a car or take a bus to La Línea.

On Foot or by Bicycle

For those already in La Línea, Playa de Poniente is perfectly accessible on foot or by bicycle thanks to its extensive promenade. We really enjoy a morning or evening stroll along this promenade, which allows us to admire the views and feel the sea breeze before reaching the sand.
