Located very close to the charming village of Chernomorets and a short drive from the vibrant city of Burgas, this beach is a destination that undoubtedly deserves a privileged spot on your travel list. We've explored it and assure you its charm is undeniable.

From the moment we set foot on its sand, we realize why Playa de Zlatna Ribka attracts so many visitors. Its name is no coincidence; the sand here has a golden hue that shines under the Black Sea sun, creating a beautiful contrast with the turquoise and calm waters. How to Get to Playa de Zlatna Ribka

Getting to Playa de Zlatna Ribka is relatively straightforward, especially if you're staying in the Burgas or Sozopol area. We recommend several options so you can choose what best suits your needs.

By Car

If you're traveling by car, which is the option we prefer for more freedom, the beach is about 25-30 kilometers south of Burgas and only about 2-3 kilometers from Chernomorets. The road is good and signs are usually clear. Once you approach Chernomorets, you'll see signs for the beach. There are parking options nearby, although in high season it can be a bit tricky to find a spot if you don't arrive early. Some parking lots are paid, but it's worth it for the convenience.

By Public Transport

From Burgas, you can take a regular bus to Chernomorets. Burgas bus station offers frequent connections. Once in Chernomorets, Playa de Zlatna Ribka is within walking distance, though perhaps a bit long under the summer sun (about 20-30 minutes). Alternatively, from Chernomorets, you can take a local taxi that will drop you right at the beach entrance in just a few minutes. On our first trip, we opted for the bus and then a taxi, and it was a hassle-free experience.

By Taxi

From Burgas or Sozopol, a taxi is a comfortable option, though more expensive. You can negotiate the price before getting in or use ride-hailing apps if available in the area. It's a good option if you're traveling in a group and want to avoid parking hassles.

The Sand and Water

Playa de Zlatna Ribka is famous, and rightly so, for its sand. We can attest that it's truly fine and of a beautiful golden hue, hence its nickname 'Golden Fish Beach'. Walking barefoot on it is a delight, and children, of course, love building sandcastles with this very malleable material. The ground type is purely sand, making it very comfortable for lying down and relaxing.

The Black Sea waters in this area are another of its great attractions. We found them remarkably crystal-clear and, in the summer months, with a very pleasant temperature for swimming. The shore is shallow, making it an ideal place for families with young children, who can splash around safely. Furthermore, as a Blue Flag beach, we have the guarantee that water quality and services meet strict environmental and safety standards. The calmness of the sea here is perfect for swimming, floating, and simply enjoying the serenity of the surroundings. We felt completely safe and comfortable every time we dove into its refreshing waters.

Services and Facilities

One of the strong points of Playa de Zlatna Ribka is the large quantity and quality of services it offers, making it a very comfortable destination to spend the day. We greatly appreciate the convenience of having everything at hand.

First, the beach has a wide offering of sun umbrellas and sunbeds available for rent. This is ideal if you don't want to carry your own beach gear and prefer the comfort of having everything ready upon arrival. Prices are usually reasonable for a full day of relaxation.

When hunger strikes or thirst makes itself known, you'll find numerous chiringuitos and restaurants along the shore and in its vicinity. The gastronomic offering is varied, from fast food and snacks to more elaborate dishes from Bulgarian and international cuisine. We enjoyed some delicious fresh fish and some local specialties at one of the chiringuitos with sea views. Additionally, there are bars where you can have a refreshing drink or a cocktail.

Safety is a priority, and the beach has a lifeguard service that watches over swimmers during bathing hours, giving us great peace of mind, especially when traveling with children. You'll also find showers to rinse off sand and salt after swimming, as well as clean and well-maintained bathrooms/WCs, a detail we always value.

For those who enjoy action, there are equipment rental points for water sports, like paddle surfing, kayaks, jet skis, or banana boat rides. We couldn't resist trying paddle surfing and it was a fantastic experience.
