How to Get to Playa de Butamyata

Getting to Playa de Butamyata is relatively straightforward, though it requires a bit of planning, especially if we're coming from outside Bulgaria. The main access is usually through the city of Burgas, which has an international airport (Burgas Airport - BOJ) receiving flights from various European cities, especially during the peak summer season. From Burgas, Sinemorets is about 90-100 kilometers to the south, a journey that will take us approximately 1.5 to 2 hours by car.

Transportation Options

• Rental Car: Undoubtedly the most comfortable and flexible option. It allows us to explore the surroundings and visit other nearby beaches and villages at our own pace. The roads in this region are generally good, though some sections may be narrower or more winding. We recommend booking the car in advance, especially in summer.
• Bus: There are regular bus lines from the central station in Burgas to Sinemorets. It's a more economical option, but can be less frequent and slower. Once in Sinemorets, Playa de Butamyata is a short walk from the village center, or we can take a local taxi if we prefer not to walk.
• Taxi or Private Transfer: We can arrange a taxi or private transfer from Burgas Airport directly to our accommodation in Sinemorets. This is a more expensive option, but offers maximum comfort, especially if we're traveling with a lot of luggage or with small children.

The Sand and Water

The first thing that captivates us when stepping onto Playa de Butamyata is its sand. It's a soft golden color and extraordinarily fine, inviting us to walk barefoot and build sandcastles effortlessly. The texture is so pleasant that our feet sink slightly, providing an immediate sense of well-being. We don't find rocks or pebbles in the main swimming area, making it ideal for the little ones.

The water of the Black Sea at Butamyata is simply spectacular. It surprises us with its clarity and cleanliness, with shades ranging from pale turquoise near the shore to a deeper blue further out. One of the most attractive features of this beach are its calm and shallow waters at the shoreline, making it a safe and fun place for children to play and splash. The absence of strong currents or large waves makes it perfect for swimmers of all ages and levels. The water temperature, especially in the summer months (July and August), is very pleasant, often exceeding 24-26°C, allowing us to enjoy long, refreshing swims under the Bulgarian sun.

• Beach Bars and Restaurants: Along the beach and in its vicinity, we find several beach bars and small restaurants where we can enjoy refreshing drinks, ice cream, snacks, and typical Bulgarian dishes. It's perfect for a light lunch or a sunset dinner with sea views.
• Lifeguards: Safety is a priority at Butamyata. During the high season, the beach has well-equipped lifeguard stations that monitor the swimming area and are prepared for any emergency. This gives us great peace of mind, especially if we're with children.
• Showers and Toilets/WC: There are public shower and toilet facilities available, allowing us to freshen up and change comfortably before and after our swim. The cleanliness of these facilities is generally good.
