How to Get to Playa del Conde

Getting to Playa del Conde is relatively straightforward, which adds to its appeal. We are in the municipality of Pilar de la Horadada, at the southernmost tip of the province of Alicante, almost on the border with the Region of Murcia. This privileged location means it is accessible from both Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC) and Murcia International Airport (RMU), both approximately 45-50 minutes away by car.

By Car

The most comfortable and flexible way to get there is undoubtedly by car. From the city of Alicante, we take the AP-7 heading south (towards Cartagena) and the exit corresponding to Pilar de la Horadada. If coming from Murcia, also take the AP-7 heading north (towards Alicante) and the same exit. Once in the town, the signage to the beaches is clear. Playa del Conde is located in the coastal area, near Torre de la Horadada. We like knowing that, although it's an urban beach, there are usually parking options on the surrounding streets, especially outside the peak season, which makes arriving and unloading our beach gear much easier.

By Public Transport

Although the car is the preferred option, there are some public transport alternatives. There are bus lines connecting Pilar de la Horadada with other nearby towns and the cities of Alicante and Murcia. However, to get directly to the beach from the bus stop in town, we might need a short walk or a local taxi. We always recommend checking updated schedules, as frequency can vary considerably between high and low season. For us, the autonomy provided by a car is unbeatable when visiting Alicante beaches.

The Sand and Water

Playa del Conde captivates us with the quality of its sand and the purity of its waters, two fundamental elements for a perfect beach experience. The sand here is predominantly fine and golden, incredibly soft to the touch. We love feeling it under our feet while walking along the shore, and it's ideal for children to play and build their castles without difficulty. The shoreline has a very gentle slope, which means we can wade out quite a few meters without the water getting too deep, an aspect we especially value when going with children or if we simply want to enjoy a relaxed dip without worries. The water temperature, especially in the summer months, is very pleasant and warm, perfect for long swims. The Blue Flag flying at this beach is a testament to the excellent water quality and the good state of preservation of the marine environment, something that gives us great peace of mind and confidence.
