How to Get to Playa de El Paraíso

Getting to Playa de El Paraíso is quite straightforward, making it an accessible destination for everyone. If we come by car, the AP-7 motorway and the national road N-332 are the main access routes to Villajoyosa. Once in the municipality, the beach is well signposted. We have verified that there are several parking areas nearby, although in high season they can fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. This is a significant advantage for those traveling with luggage or with family.

For those who prefer public transport, the Alicante Metropolitan TRAM is an excellent option. Line L1 (Alicante-Benidorm) has a stop at 'La Vila Joiosa', and from there, a walk or a short local bus ride will leave us right at the beach. This option is fantastic for avoiding parking worries and for enjoying the coastal landscape during the journey. We, in particular, really enjoy the convenience of the TRAM, which easily connects with other beaches in Alicante and points of interest in the province.

The Sand and Water

Here, we will not find exclusively fine sand, but a pleasant mix of golden sand and small pebbles, polished by the constant ebb and flow of the waves. This combination, which we describe as 'mixed', is surprisingly comfortable and offers a different texture that we love. The pebbles, far from being a nuisance, help keep the water exceptionally clear and clean, as sand is not stirred up as easily.

The waters of El Paraíso are, simply, a delight. We have confirmed their transparency and their turquoise blue color, which irresistibly invites a swim. The entrance to the sea is gentle and gradual, without sudden drops, making it especially safe for the little ones and for those who are not expert swimmers. The absence of strong currents and the general calm of its waters, protected to some extent by the coastal orography, make it an ideal place for swimming, floating, and simply relaxing under the sun. It is this balance between the texture of the beach and the quality of the water that, in our opinion, elevates Playa de El Paraíso to the category of favorite for many.

Furthermore, during the high season, the lifeguard service is always present and active, guaranteeing the safety of all swimmers, something we greatly value, especially when we go with children.

For those seeking maximum comfort, the beach offers umbrella and sunbed rentals, allowing us to enjoy the sun without worrying about carrying our own equipment. Along the promenade bordering the beach, we find several chiringuitos and restaurants where we can enjoy a refreshing drink, an ice cream, or a light meal with sea views. These establishments contribute to creating a lively and social atmosphere. The beach also has wooden walkways that facilitate mobility and points of full accessibility for people with reduced mobility, including amphibious chairs, demonstrating Villajoyosa's commitment to inclusion. The nearby parking, although busy in summer, is another of the services that make this beach a very comfortable option.

Best Time to Visit

Playa de El Paraíso is a destination we can enjoy for much of the year, but, based on our experience, there are times that are simply ideal. If what we are looking for is to enjoy warm, sunny weather for swimming and relaxation without the crowds of the high season, the months of spring (April, May, and early June) and early autumn (September and October) are, without a doubt, the best choice. During these times, the water temperature is very pleasant, the sun shines intensely, and the influx of people is considerably lower, allowing us to easily find a good spot and enjoy enviable peace. We usually opt for these months for our quieter getaways.
