How to Get to Playa de Girardella

Getting to Playa de Girardella is relatively straightforward, given its popularity and the good infrastructure of the Istria region. For us, trip planning is always key, and here we detail the best options to reach this Croatian paradise.

By Car

If you are coming by car, which is highly recommended for exploring the surroundings of Istria, Playa de Girardella is located in Rabac, a coastal town a few kilometers southeast of Labin. From the capital of Istria, Pula, the journey is approximately 45-60 minutes by car, following signs to Labin and then Rabac. There is parking available near the beach, often managed by the resorts or with paid zones. Our advice is to arrive early during the high season to secure a good spot, as the influx can be considerable.

By Bus

Rabac is well connected by bus to major Istrian cities like Pula, Rijeka, or Labin. From Labin, the connection is very frequent and the journey is short. Once at the Rabac bus station, Playa de Girardella is accessible on foot or via a short taxi ride, depending on the exact location of your accommodation. It is an economical and comfortable option if you prefer not to drive.

By Plane

The nearest airport is Pula Airport (PUY), which receives flights from several European cities, especially during the summer season. From the airport, you can rent a car, take a taxi, or use the transfer services that many hotels in Rabac offer. Another option is to fly to Rijeka Airport (RJK) or even Zagreb Airport (ZAG) and then take a bus or rental car to Rabac. However, we strongly recommend wearing appropriate water footwear (water shoes) for greater comfort when walking and entering/exiting the sea, especially for children or those with sensitive feet. The pebbles, although polished by the waves, can be a bit uncomfortable barefoot.
